Design for Conservation: Mindset Cards
How can illustration become a tool for systemic environmental change?
Commissioned by Design for Conservation, a research programme developed at the University of Auckland, this project focused on transforming complex sustainability concepts into a set of illustrated mindset cards for environmental workshops.
Collaborating closely with researcher Dr. Gabriela Baron, we translated abstract systems-thinking into clear, visually resonant tools. The result: a series of cards that support collaborative, decolonial, and holistic approaches to environmental action.
The illustrations hold space for both clarity and interpretation, allowing for practical use while inviting reflective dialogue. Actively used in workshops across Aotearoa, New Zealand, the cards are already supporting communities and organisations in their transitions toward sustainable futures.
