The Assemblage Point
How can animation make visible what’s usually felt?
The Assemblage Point is an animation inspired by a concept from Carlos Castaneda’s shamanic system, a reference point behind the shoulder through which perception and awareness are organised.
In collaboration with Gabriel Bergonzi, a movement practitioner and instructor of energetic techniques, this piece interprets gestures from The Magical Passes, a sequence of physical practices designed to shift states of consciousness. Gabriel contributed the concept, movement, and voice performance.
I directed the visual language and created the animation frame by frame, using a minimal palette and slowed pacing to reflect the internal rhythm of the practice. The visuals were designed to trace presence and sensation, translating subtle physicality into an experiential visual narrative.
